FAU announcer will fight entire press box over that last call

In every press box in America, they warn reporters prior to the game that all clapping, cheering and any other form of open rooting is strictly prohibited. Fortunately for Florida Atlantic radio announcer Dave Lamont, they never say anything about flipping out over a call, banging on the press box glass and challenging the rest of the media to a fight while still on-air:

Somehow, this took four days to break into the blogstream. But oh, it is out there now and it will live on forever. This is what happens For the record, the game was already well out of hand when Lamont went off, thanks to 28 unanswered points by Arkansas State to overcome a 16-9 FAU lead in the fourth quarter. (You can listen to the entire broadcast here – click" On Demand" and "Florida Atlantic Football at Arkansas State"; rant begins a little before the 3:40:00 mark.) He reportedly apologized to Sun Belt commissioner Wright Waters in a phone call, wrote a written apology to Arkansas State and will apologize on the air this weekend , when the Owls host rival Florida International in the "Shula Bowl." He should then be immediately contacted by a dozen network producers, because as Howard Beale originally proved 35 years ago and both reality shows and cable news continue to prove today, nothing succeeds on television like irrational, over-the-top rage.
