Not only about the big one, which happened with four laps to go, but with the way that Kyle Busch passed Aric Almirola for the win in Saturday's Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega.
>Busch might have learned a thing or two from his blocking-gone-bad incident at Daytona with Tony Stewart in 2009. In that, Busch blocked one too many times as Stewart faked high, and ended up in a multi-car crash as Stewart won the race.
This time, Busch was in second place, and faked Almirola high while on Almirola's bumper. Almirola had to defend the pass on the high side and didn't have time to get back to the bottom before Busch was there and Busch beat Almirola to the stripe by .002 seconds. Yes. .002 seconds.
However, the incident wasn't without controversy. Look where Busch's truck is; the left side tires are on and maybe below the yellow line as he's passing Almirola. Almirola said that NASCAR deemed the pass legal because Busch was sliding as he passed Almirola -- which was true -- and went below the line as he was trying to regain control of his truck.
“He wasn’t forced down there, he got down there because of the door-to-door contact,” Pemberton said. “We looked at it 2-3 times, we had 3-4 good camera angles and there was absolutely no question whatsoever.”
The big one involved points leader Todd Bodine and Ron Hornaday, who ended up on his roof.
